If you use the Box Notes feature with your UBbox account, you’ll still be able to use Box Notes by logging into the UBbox web app.

Box is making the decision to end support for the desktop app version of Box Notes due to low usage. By contrast, the company notes that the use of Box Notes web app remains popular; customers can even expect “a newly enhanced Box Notes web app” coming summer 2022.

At UB, you can access Box Notes by logging into the UBbox web app and selecting Notes on the left-hand side.

I use the Box Notes desktop app. What do I need to do?

There’s no need to take action to preserve your notes—they are automatically backed up in the UBbox web app.

After June 15, 2022, the Box Notes desktop app will no longer work. Instead, you’ll need to log into the UBbox web app at ubbox.buffalo.edu. You can access your notes by clicking Notes in the left-hand menu.
