Congratulations, #UBClassOf2023!
The School of Management will present two commencement ceremonies. Every student who is eligible and wishes to participate must register for the appropriate ceremony.
Registration for the School of Management's 2023 Commencement Ceremonies is now open. Registration will be open through April 7.
Note that registering to participate in a commencement ceremony is separate from applying for degree conferral.
If you are a School of Management student with a degree conferral date of August 2022, February 2023 or June 2023 and you are graduating with one of the degrees listed below, your first step is to contact your advisor to ensure all degree requirements have been met, and you must apply for graduation (degree conferral) as outlined on the Countdown to Commencement website.
You may then register at the link below to participate in the ceremony that will be held on May 19 in Alumni Arena .
Friday, May 19; 1 p.m.
Alumni Arena, North Campus
Latin Honors/Gold Cord Policy
If you are earning a bachelor's degree (including those awarded as part of combined degrees), you may be eligible to receive Latin honors based on your UB cumulative grade point average (GPA) on the following scale:

To qualify for Latin honors, you must present a minimum of 60 credit hours of UB undergraduate coursework, at least 54 of which must be graded credits (i.e., not grads of 'P', 'NP', 'S' or 'U').
If you are a June degree conferral, to receive the Latin honors designation in commencement program books, and to be eligible to wear the honorific gold cord *cum laude, magna and summa) at the time of ceremonies, you must qualify based on your UB cumulative GPA through the winter intersession of this year and projected UB credit hours through the spring semester. Standings for Latin honors may change once final grades are posted or degrees conferred.
This recognition is only intended if you will have your degree conferred in June, or have had your degree conferred in the previous February or August.
The gold cords will be available through the University Bookstore on North Campus beginning March 8. Price and purchase details are forthcoming.
