Congratulations, #UBClassof2025!
The School of Management will present two commencement ceremonies, one for undergraduates and one for graduates. If you are eligible and wish to participate, you must first register for degree conferral, then you must register for the appropriate ceremony.
Note: Registering to participate in a commencement ceremony is separate from applying for degree conferral.

If you are earning a baccalaureate degree (including one awarded as part of a combined degree), you are eligible to receive Latin honors based on your UB cumulative grade point average (GPA) on the following scale:
Average (based on 4.00=A)
To qualify for Latin honors, you must present a minimum of 60 credit hours of UB undergraduate coursework, at least 54 of which must be graded credits (i.e., not grades of 'P',’NP’, 'S' or 'U').
To receive the Latin honors designation in commencement program books, and to be eligible to wear the honorific gold cord (cum laude, magna and summa) at the time of ceremonies, candidates for the June degree conferral date must qualify based upon their UB cumulative GPA through the winter intersession of that year and projected UB credit hours through the spring semester of that year. Standings for Latin honors may change once final grades are posted or degrees conferred.
This program book recognition is only intended for students who will have their degrees conferred in June, or have had their degrees conferred in the previous February or August.
The gold cords will be available for purchase ($14.25) through the University Bookstore on North Campus beginning March 10. At that time, qualifying students may purchase their cord at the store; bring UB ID. Students who are unable to purchase in person may email the store at 0405mgr@follett.com to indicate their interest and provide a call-back number so a store representative may take their order by phone; in this case, add $7.99 for home-shipping.

Caps and gowns are required for participation in all degree conferral ceremonies and must be ordered through the University Bookstore. Learn more about ordering your cap and gown.
School of Management Regalia Colors
The tassel color is ‘drab’. Hoods are lined in blue and gold and the width of the velvet border varies by degree, while the color of the velvet border indicates the academic discipline, PhD hoods are trimmed in blue.
When you place your order, you will be guided in selecting the appropriate regalia based on your academic discipline and degree.
Commencement Ceremonies are for School of Management students from the above departments and programs with degree conferral dates of August 2024, February 2025 and June 2025. You must contact your adviser to ensure all degree requirements have been met.
You must apply for graduation (degree). Details on how to do this can be found on UB’s Countdown to Commencement website. You may then register to participate in the applicable ceremony that will be held in Alumni Arena on Friday, May 16. Registration will begin on Feb. 3.
Only graduating students may participate in the graduation ceremony, including walking in the processional and crossing the stage. UB will make limited exceptions when a graduating student requires assistance due to a disability. If you need accommodations to participate in the ceremony, contact mgt-commencement@buffalo.edu.
Eligible students will appear in the program book. Your legal name as it appears in HUB will be used with the exception of students who request use of their Preferred Diploma Name. To do so, contact Maddie Wood at mgt-commencement@buffalo.edu. Program book content will reflect the data available in HUB as of April 7.
Tickets are required for guests to attend any School of Management ceremony. More information will be forthcoming.
GradImages is the contracted photographer for commencement. There will be a posed photo opportunity as well as a photo of each student crossing the stage. Photo proofs will be emailed to you approximately one week following the commencement ceremony. You may direct all post-ceremony photo inquires to GradImages.
Printed Diploma
The Office of the Registrar will mail a printed diploma, free of charge, to your permanent address approximately four to six weeks after the conferral date. You are responsible for making address changes; these should be made by the term conferral date to ensure that you receive your diploma.
Certified Electronic Diploma
Students who graduated June 2020 and later have the option to purchase a certified electronic diploma (CeDiploma) for $15.95. Notification will be sent to your UB email, from info@credentialtrust.com, approximately three to six weeks after your degree conferral date.
