Connect with Students and Staff via Chat

We invite all prospective students to connect with current students and staff via our chat platform. Get your questions answered and make a new friend!  

Easy-to-Follow Steps:

  1. After reading through the profiles under Students or Staff, select a UB Student or Staff member to chat with
  2. Select "Create Your Account"
  3. Complete your quick profile 
  4. Adjust your “Notification Preferences” under “Settings” to receive replies via email, SMS or What's App

Response Time

When chatting with a student, most messages will receive a quick response, but some may take up to 24 hours. Feel free to ask them any questions about their major, what it's like to be a student, housing questions, etc. Staff members reply to questions during working hours Monday-Friday from 8:30-5 p.m. EST with a 24 hour response time in most instances. A staff member is the best point of contact for admissions related questions, application and enrollment steps, the transfer process and portfolio advice.

Feel free to ask our Dean's Student Ambassadors questions about their program, housing, what it's like to be a UB School of Management student and more!

Not sure what to ask?  Here are some suggestions for questions:

  • How did you get to where you are today?
  • What classes have you found interesting or useful?
  • What do you like most about the program and what do you find most challenging?
  • What skills do you think are most important for this program and the profession?
  • Tell me about your daily schedule.
  • How does the course work compare to the undergraduate coursework?
  • What special programs are offered by the school (research, collaborative degrees, etc.)?
  • Do you belong to any professional organizations?
  • What kinds of opportunities for employment are there in the field?
  • Can you recommend other people who might be valuable sources of information?
  • Are you able to work during the school year?  How many hours per week do you typically work?
  • What activities do you do during your spare time?
  • Do you miss home?  How often do you go home throughout the school year?
  • How is the camaraderie within the school - does everyone get along and help each other?
