Academic Probation

Students talk while working in the Undergraduate Learning and Community Center.

No one comes to the School of Management with the intention of underperforming academically, but it happens.

Transitions can be difficult, as you navigate through new systems and tackle a rigorous curriculum. We understand grades do not always reflect abilities and can help you identify ways to improve your academic standing.

If you receive an academic probation notice, you have options for how to handle it, and we can help you make the right choices for your circumstance. Get started today by making an appointment with a strategist to set up your personal recovery plan or discuss your options to get on the right track.

  • Recovery Plan: In this session, we will look at your grades and help you calculate your recovery grades for the next semester—the grades you need to earn to improve and get off probation. Next, we will explore the options you have to support your academic comeback, and help you organize your choices on a timeline that meets your goals and learning style.
  • Right Track: Not sure what you would like to do to recover from academic probation? Schedule a 15-minute Right Track meeting to discuss your options. We will look at your current standing versus where you need to be, and make suggestions. From there, you can decide if you wish to engage with one of our programs or take on your academic recovery on your own. Either way, you will leave understanding more about academic probation, your standing and what your next steps should be to reach your goals.
