Business Practices in the U.S.

Through the Business Practices in the United States micro-credential, you will participate in the School of Management’s “Experience the 50” program, which includes an experiential learning trip in the continental U.S.

You will explore various industries and identify ways to make an impact in major cities across the country. Through hands-on projects, reflection and immersive/virtual experiences, you will be prepared to better articulate your competencies and the benefits gained through your experiences.

  • School of Management undergraduate students of all levels, and graduate students in the MBA, PMBA, MS in Finance, MS in Accounting, MS in Management Information Systems, and MS in Business Analytics programs
  • To be considered, you must submit a completed application, updated résumé, personal statement and unofficial transcripts
  • Overall GPA of 2.5 is required at the time of application. If your GPA currently falls below a 2.5, address this in your personal statement by indicating your plan to increase it prior to participating in the program
  • Hybrid (some requirements may be fulfilled online)
  • Undergraduate/graduate credit-bearing
  • In addition to the micro-credential, you will receive a notation on your transcript
  • MGG 211 or MGG 611: Experience the 50 (grade of B or better).
  • Travel/virtual component ranging in duration from two to seven days (site visits, alumni networking event, mini-case study).
  • Complete mini-case project and present it to alumni and professionals.
  • Showcase achievements via LinkedIn profile with three-to-five-minute documentary of your experience.
  • Present your experience to the Global Advisory Council.
  • Complete a two-to-four page report that includes your comprehensive reflection reports throughout the experience.
