Emerging Entrepreneurs

Helping historically underrepresented entrepreneurs grow their businesses to the next stage of development.

The M&T Bank Emerging Entrepreneurs program empowers you with the essential tools, mentorship, and community support needed to navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship and grow your business. You will work with a mentor, attend biweekly business development seminars and networking events, and complete a revised or newly developed business plan.

  • Owner of an emerging business in the Buffalo-Niagara region with annual revenue below $300,000
  • Must have a desire to formulate clear objectives to guide the development of your business plan
  • Non-UB students
  • In person (no courses offered online)
  • Continuing education/professional education
  • Non-credit-bearing (you will not earn university credit)
  • Minimum of 75% attendance at 19 program classes
  • Attend minimum of three group coaching sessions
  • Participation in mentor program
  • Prepare and present a 10-minute final presentation for a panel of reactors
