Greetings from the School of Management.
As many of you know, I will be stepping down as dean at the end of the academic year. A national search is underway, and we will welcome a new dean before the start of the fall semester.
It is with mixed emotions that I write this, and as I do, I am reminded of a famous African proverb that says, “If you wish to go fast, go alone; if you wish to go far, go together.” Fitting words for this letter, because it was only with your help that we as a school were able to accomplish so much these past seven years. In this, my final “message from the dean” in Buffalo Business, I’d like to thank you, our dedicated alumni, for your extensive support during my tenure.
Despite the unprecedented challenges of a pandemic and other pressures, you found a way to step up and help us continue, and even excel at, our mission.
Our success as a School of Management has depended upon the strong connections we have with so many of you. We are most grateful for the partnerships you help us forge with your organizations and the many hours you dedicate to sharing your expertise, coaching, mentoring and bringing the real world to our students (via Zoom and in person).
While my heart and commitment will remain with the school as I continue to serve in a faculty role, I recognize that changes in leadership bring fresh perspectives and ideas that build off existing strengths and accomplishments. I am confident that the positive momentum that we have accomplished together will continue, and the upward trajectory of the school will continue under the leadership of a new dean of the UB School of Management.
It has been an honor and privilege to serve you as dean. Thank you for your support and l look forward to our continued successes.
Horns up and go Bulls!
Warm regards,
Paul Tesluk
Dean and Professor
