What can I do with a finance degree?

UB School of Management alumni have worked for top financial firms on Wall Street and around the world, including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citi, M&T Bank and Vanguard.

As a finance major, you can choose from careers in financial analysis, asset and portfolio management, banking and credits and other fields across a variety of industries, including financial firms, investment banks, government agencies and more.

Academic Requirements

You must maintain a 3.0 major GPA, 2.750 UB GPA, 2.750 overall GPA to gain admission or remain in good standing for continuation in the major.

Your degree requirements are determined by the year in which you begin as a matriculated student at UB. There are sometimes slight curricular adjustments from year to year. Therefore, you should always refer to your academic advisement report for your specific degree requirements in consultation with your academic advisor.

In order to finish the program in a timely fashion, students must successfully complete  MTH 131, ECO 181, MGQ 301, MGF 120, MGF 200, and MGF 301 prior to taking the junior level major courses.
