In the University at Buffalo School of Management MBA Case Competition, teams of business students from top programs analyze a real-world case and present their solutions to a panel of executive judges for a chance to win both team and individual prizes.

About the 2019 Competition

When: April 5-6, 2019
Where: University at Buffalo, School of Management, Buffalo, New York (Directions)
Eligibility: Teams must be composed of two first-year and two second-year full-time MBA students. If you are from a one-year or online MBA program, please contact us at mgt-ubcasecompetition@buffalo.edu to discuss your eligibility.
Ten teams will be chosen to present in the semifinal round based on the quality of their two-page case analyses. Each semifinalist team will be required to pay a registration fee of $250. Additional details will be provided upon selection.
Timeline:
- February 22 - Registration deadline - EXTENDED
- February 26 - Case distributed - EXTENDED
- March 4 - Two-page case analysis due - EXTENDED
- March 11 - Semifinal round invitations
- March 15 - Registration fee due
- April 5 - Welcome dinner
- April 6 - Semifinal and final presentations
Team Registration fee
All semifinal teams are required to pay the competition registration fee by noon (EDT) on March 15.
Resume and Forms
All team members are required to submit a current resume, as well as prize and tax forms. Prize and tax forms will be used in the event that you win a monetary award. If you are a U.S. citizen, please use the W9 form. If you are a foreign national, please use the W8 form.

Where to print?
There are a few places nearby for your team to print any materials they may need. We recommend the UPS Store for Business Services located on the UB Commons at 520 Lee Road, Suite 105, Buffalo, NY 14228. Their hours of operation on Friday are from 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
