Funding Your Degree

Invest in your most valuable asset—yourself.

While UB’s tuition is competitive and provides a high return on investment, a limited number of scholarships are available for outstanding, highly qualified students. All awards are merit-based. Students may also apply for assistantships and on-campus employment prior to arriving on campus.

Assistantships

Graduate student, teaching and research assistantships are offered each year in a competitive process to a select number of qualified full-time students. Students assist with school or university administration, teach or undertake research with faculty members. Although responsibilities vary by assignment, assistants generally work 20 hours per week. Graduate and teaching assistants receive a stipend plus a tuition scholarship.

Opportunities for Graduate Funding

There are many university, national and international-level awards available to fund your education. Visit the Understanding the Funding Process webpage, which provides information on admissions and funding decisions, funding packages and opportunities for funding.
