First-Year Paper

The first-year paper in the OHR PhD program gives students the opportunity to exercise their literature review and proposition-building skills. Students will formulate a research question, review the literature, build propositions, and in OHR we recommend that students present their final paper in the summer after their first year in the program. Ideally, students will continue to refine their papers into empirical pieces that can be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal.

Minors Outside of the School of Management

Students in OHR have generally earned minors in statistics. However, students are also welcome to seek minors in other departments. Students who would like to seek minors should discuss this with their advisor, the OHR PhD coordinator, and the OHR department chair (all of whom must approve the minor). In the past, students have typically sought minors in the following departments:

  • Statistics
  • Social psychology
  • Sociology
  • Economics
  • Strategy
