A pair of UB School of Management alumni have been appointed to the school’s Accounting Advisory Council: Keith Belote, BS/MBA ’93, assurance partner at PwC, and Qi Ma, BS ’09, MS ’10, senior manager in Deloitte’s Risk and Financial Advisory Group.
The Accounting Advisory Council assists the School of Management and its Accounting and Law Department by providing external perspective and advocacy for the department’s programs and strategic priorities. Belote and Ma join 29 other UB alumni and accounting professionals on the council.
Belote, a CPA, brings more than 27 years of experience working with both public and private companies, as well as those preparing for an initial public offering, to his role at PwC. He has served as a global engagement partner—responsible for coordinating all global audit, tax and advisory services—for companies in such industries as technology, consumer and industrial products, pharmaceutical and life sciences, entertainment and retail.
In addition, Belote is managing partner for PwC’s Buffalo office, overseeing day-to-day operations, on-campus recruiting, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
A CPA and Project Management Professional, Ma has more than a decade of operational and technology risk experience at a variety of financial institutions, including global banks, leading broker-dealer firms, asset managers and clearing agencies. She brings an operational controls discipline from her experience providing attestation and assessment support to assist clients in evaluating business processes, recognizing risks, and identifying mitigating and compensating procedures over operations.
Ma also is an active member of the Deloitte Advisory Faculty program, which facilitates new hire and experienced hire trainings, and participates in campus recruiting programs.
