BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center and the Credit-Bearing Internship Program in the University at Buffalo School of Management honored six professionals, five students and four companies on April 16 at a reception in the South Lake Community Building on UB’s North Campus.
The Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center Alumnus of the Year award was given to Thomas Cogan, senior vice president at Citi, as the alumnus having the greatest positive impact on MBA students and student clubs in the School of Management.
The Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center Recruiter of the Year award went to Amy Lauricella, group campus recruiter at Target, for making a significant impact in recruiting School of Management students.
Rich Products received the Frank L. Ciminelli Family Career Resource Center Recruiting Organization of the Year award. Accepting the award for Rich Products was Robert Grow, vice president, packaging and commodities procurement.
The Credit-Bearing Internship Program (CBIP) presented Student Interns of the Year awards to three students. The recipients are Matthew Bertrand, CH3 Biosystems; Sarah Oliver, KJT Group; and Chelsie Tutty, The Hamister Group. Honorable mentions were given to David Anthony and Amra Biscanin, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The CBIP also presented four Intern Supervisor of the Year awards to honor supervisors for their contributions to the professional development of the UB interns who worked for them. The recipients are Lindsay Jones, human resources consultant, Employer Services Corporation; Wende Parrish, senior marketing manager, Fisher-Price; Nagendra Raina, associate marketing manager, Fisher-Price; and Skeeter Whitlow, human resources director, Buffalo Marriott.
Outstanding Internship Organization was awarded to Katz Americas for marketing research internships as well as for their level of involvement in bringing marketing projects into School of Management classrooms. Frank Muraca, president and CEO, and Claudia Perdomo, Latin American business development manager, accepted the award.
The Hamister Group was honored as Outstanding New Internship Partner for the quality of their human resources, accounting and mergers/acquisitions internships. Intern supervisors Dan Hamister, vice president, Dan Kutis, corporate recruiter, and Rose Walsh, benefits administrator, accepted the award.
Nonprofit Internship Site of the Year was awarded to the American Cancer Society. Accepting the award was JoAnn Harig, director of special events. Internships were offered to students in promotions and event planning.
Interns nominated supervisors for recognition. Finalists were chosen by Carrie Gardner, CBIP administrative director, and Mary Dahl, program assistant, and were endorsed by Martha Salzman, faculty director of the Credit Bearing Internship Program.
