School of Management Alumni Association Honors Student Leaders

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The University at Buffalo School of Management Alumni Association recognized 16 students with two newly established awards honoring community service and leadership. The awards presentation took place Feb. 12 in the school’s Alfiero Center.

The Community Service award recognizes a student’s volunteer service with nonprofit or community-based organizations that helps improve the quality of life for individuals.

The Leadership award recognizes a student’s significant contribution to student life through volunteer student representation, committee involvement, student organization leadership, residence hall leadership or athletic leadership and participation.

To be eligible for the awards, students needed to be members of one of the School of Management’s recognized students clubs or organizations.

Community Service awards were presented to:

  • First-year MBA Katrina Bytschkow of Rochester, a National Association of Women MBAs member, for her work with Big Brother/Big Sister, American Heart Association’s Relay for Life and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of Darkness Walk;
  • Junior Amanda Fox of Williamson, a UB Accounting Association member, for her work with American Red Cross, Linda Yalem Run and Buffalo Zoo;
  • Junior Samuel Huoh of Amherst, a Beta Alpha Psi member, for his work with the Career Opportunities in the Accounting Profession (COAP) program;
  • Senior Christina Orlando of Clifton Park, a Society for Human Resource Management member, for her work with the American Cancer Society and Linda Yalem Run;
  • Second-year MBA Manish Chandrashekhar Sabnis of Mumbai, India, UB Supply Chains and Operations Management vice president, for his work with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of Darkness Walk;
  • Senior Dustin Scott of New York City, an Alpha Kappa Psi member, for his work with Habitat for Humanity;
  • Second-year MBA Justin Voty of Sugar Grove, Penn., a Graduate Management Association member, for his work with the Buffalo Lions Club; and
  • Sophomore Scott Zdunczyk of Ballston Spa, an International Business Association member, for his work with the University Scholars Mentoring program and Delaware Park clean-up.

Leadership awards were presented to:

  • First-year MBA Cragg Chaffee of Hornell, a Graduate Management Association member;
  • Senior Andrew Haskill of Tonawanda, a Society for Human Resource Management member;
  • First-year MBA Song Jingya of Shangdong, China, an International Business Association member;
  • Senior Janet Luong of Brooklyn, an Alpha Kappa Psi member;
  • Second-year MBA Amy Monin of Lancaster, a National Association of Women MBAs member;
  • Senior Dimitri Rouskas of Bethpage, UB Accounting Association vice president;
  • Senior Christina Ventresca of Buffalo, a Beta Alpha Psi member; and
  • Senior Molly Wright of Brighton, American Marketing Association vice president.
