Beta Alpha Psi Sponsors Film on White-Collar Crime

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The School of Management’s chapter of Beta Alpha Psi will host a screening of “Crossing the Line: Ordinary People Committing Extraordinary Crimes” at 7 p.m., Oct. 18, in the Newman Center on UB’s North Campus.

“Crossing the Line” documents how ordinary people fall victim to white-collar crime at various points in their professional careers.

Kelly Richmond Pope, the project’s creator and executive producer, will attend the screening and lead a discussion following the film. Pope is an assistant professor of accounting at DePaul University and former forensic accountant with KPMG LLP.

The film won the 2012 Mark Chain/FSA Innovation in Graduate Teaching Award and the 2012 Best Contribution to Teaching award from the Professionalism and Ethics Committee and the Public Interest of the American Accounting Association.
