BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Fifteen graduates of the University at Buffalo School of Management received awards during the school’s commencement ceremonies on May 10.
The graduates and the awards they received are:
- Amilyn M. Corliss of Forestville, the Delta Sigma Pi Scholarship Key, presented to the full-time undergraduate student who compiles the highest management grade point average of all eligible graduating students.
- Shannon M. Algoe of Lockport, the Charles H. Diefendorf Award in Finance, presented to the student who has made the greatest contribution to the finance discipline.
- Burhan A. Saiyed of Karachi, Pakistan, the Sidney N. Kahn Memorial Award for Excellence in Sales and Marketing, presented to the MBA student who has made the greatest contribution to the field of sales and marketing.
- Daniel P. Kirst of Lancaster, the Eddy Lin Memorial Award, presented to a graduate student who is focusing on an accounting career with a mid-size public accounting firm. The recipient must actively mentor others, exhibit scholastic excellence, a passion for learning and have a caring and fun attitude.
- Amanda M. Harris of Clarence Center, the Drs. John and Arlyn Myers Award, presented to the MBA student who, in the eyes of the award committee, has excelled in the field of marketing in the MBA program.
- Matthew R. Silver of Plainview, the Undergraduate Student Achievement Award, presented to the undergraduate student who, in the opinion of the faculty has demonstrated scholastic excellence and also has rendered outstanding extra-curricular service to the school and the university.
- Mansi Sharma of Buffalo, the Master of Science Student Achievement Award, presented to the MS student who, in the opinion of the faculty, has demonstrated scholastic excellence and also has rendered outstanding extracurricular service to the school and the university.
- Angela M. Haase of Tonawanda, the MBA Student Achievement Award, presented to the MBA student who, in the opinion of the faculty, has demonstrated scholastic excellence and also has rendered outstanding extra-curricular service to the school and the university.
- Onook Oh of Omaha, the PhD Student Achievement Award, presented to the PhD student who, in the opinion of the faculty, has demonstrated scholastic excellence and also has rendered outstanding extracurricular service to the school and the university.
- Luke T. Nuttle of East Aurora, the Adriana Ilyse Thaler Memorial Senior Award in Marketing, presented to the senior marketing student who best demonstrates academic excellence, leadership, marketing professionalism and personal motivation.
- Kelsey J. Messer of Kenmore, the University at Buffalo Accounting Association Michael S. Dockery Memorial Senior Award, presented to the senior accounting student who has contributed in a superior way to the Institute of Management Accountants and the accounting profession, fellow students and the School of Management.
- Amit A. Prayag of Pune, India, the Dr. Marcel and Mrs. Kathryn Vinokur Award to Promote Global Understanding, presented to the graduating School of Management student born outside of North America who contributes to promoting global understanding among MBA students.
- Steven A. Rehler of Rochester and Julia E. Schaub of Fairport, the William H. Wendel Memorial Award for Student Excellence in Human Resources Management, presented to the graduating students who have made the greatest contribution to the field of human resources management.
- West W. Richter Jr. of Buffalo, the Dr. Jerry and Mrs. Dina Wind Award to Promote International Understanding, presented to the student born in the United States of America who contributes to promoting international understanding among MBA students.
