Annual DEAL Expo to showcase undergraduate accomplishments

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Undergraduate students in the University at Buffalo School of Management will present their best research, class projects, internship experiences and creative activities at the second annual DEAL (Display of Efforts, Aptitudes and Leadership) Expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on March 29 in the Alfiero Center.

Held in conjunction with the university’s spring open house for accepted students, the DEAL Expo is a student-run poster competition.

“School of Management students are already doing such amazing work,” says Daniel Ovadia ’14, a student on the organizing committee. “By displaying the posters at open house, these projects can have a wider impact and students can learn from each other’s experiences.”

A panel of faculty, alumni and business professionals will evaluate the presenters and award a $1,000 prize for the best poster, as well as $500 and $250 for second and third place, respectively. In addition, prospective students in attendance will be invited to vote for a special Open House Choice award that comes with a $250 prize.

The top ten posters will be featured at the university-wide Celebration of Academic Excellence, held April 23 at the UB Center for the Arts.

The UB School of Management has provided funding for the prizes, posters and all additional expenses. Open to the public, the event will also feature refreshments and free giveaways.
