BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Twelve School of Management students were among 25 University at Buffalo students to receive full scholarships for the 2012-13 school year through a program designed to retain university graduates in the region.
The School of Management recipients are Mark Bortz, MBA ’13, Alison Aitchison, MBA ’13, David Charron, MBA ’13, Christopher Courtney, MBA ’13, Ruth Huoh, MBA ’13, Ashley Illuzzi, MBA ’13, Christopher Maugans, JD/MBA ’13, Christopher O’Neill ’13, Daniel Ovadia ’13, Jeannette Russell-Shepherd, MBA ’14, Kathleen Stack, MBA ’14, and Landry Willard, MBA ’14.
The 25 awardees will receive a total of about $500,000 to cover their unmet costs of attending UB and to support summer internships at some of the region's leading companies. They will also get access to mentoring, networking events and other resources that help build professional skills.
The Western New York Prosperity Scholarship, launched in 2009, promotes economic growth and sustainability by acquainting entrepreneurial, civic-mind students with career opportunities in local industries. The program is funded by the Prentice Family Foundation.
