BUFFALO, N.Y. The University at Buffalo School of Management has moved up two spots in Bloomberg Businessweek’s ranking of the nation’s best MBA programs, coming in at No. 76.

Among public universities, the School of Management is ranked No. 39.

The school fared exceptionally well in the learning component of the survey with a rank of No. 38 overall, besting such schools as Harvard, Duke and NYU.

"It’s gratifying to see the ranking reflect the effort put into recruiting high caliber faculty and quality students,” said Paul Tesluk, dean of the UB School of Management. “In addition, our global experiences and programs like LeaderCORE and Corporate Champions, in particular, contribute to our exceptional place in the learning component.”

The ranking is based on data compiled from more than 9,000 students, 14,920 alumni, 900 corporate recruiters, and compensation and job-placement data from each school. In addition to the overall ranking, schools are separately ranked on four component indexes—compensation, networking, learning and entrepreneurship.

Of more than 16,000 business schools worldwide, the UB School of Management is one of only about 840 schools accredited by AACSB International and the only school in the Buffalo Niagara region to make the Bloomberg Businessweek ranking.

The UB School of Management is recognized for its emphasis on real-world learning, community and economic impact, and the global perspective of its faculty, students and alumni. The school also has been ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes and U.S. News & World Report for the quality of its programs and the return on investment it provides its graduates.
