The Career Resource Center (CRC) organizes various types of career events throughout the year including workshops, national speakers, employer information sessions, alumni sessions and career fairs. Look for specific dates and times, and register through BizLink - Events.

Following are descriptions of some of the most prominent recruiting events that UB students are eligible to attend. Read the descriptions carefully to determine your eligibility in terms of degree required, country work authorizations, etc.

You may register for most of the events free on the Web; however, you will be responsible for any necessary travel arrangements. Many events require you to register up to six months or more ahead of time, so observe the deadlines and register early.

  • InfoTech WNY Student Shadow Program
    • Interview/Shadow Dates: April 16 and April 19
    • Local companies and IT professionals allow students to shadow an IT staff member throughout the day to get a more complete view of a “day-in-the-life.” 
    • Some of the companies who have participated in the past are: Algonquin - Connecting Healthcare, BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York, CentriLogic, Inc., Evans National Bank, IVR Technology Group, LLC, Lincoln Archives, Utilant, LLC, Delaware North Companies, Ingram Micro, Dopkins & Company, LLP, 360 PSG, Full Circle Studios, M & T Bank, Rich Products, Ronco, Shatter I.T Global Services, Synacor Inc., Praxair, Pro Serve,  Tops Markets, etc.  
    • Register at InfoTechNiagara.  Registration will be partially a first-come, first-served basis but also the company gets to select from the first three resumes that get submitted for each shadowing opportunity if they want. The program will be based on specific areas within IT so we can be as career-focused as possible.   
  • Hiring Summit
    • Virtual: April 2, 2024 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
    • In-person: April 3, 2024 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.

    • The Hiring Summit is designed to connect students looking for full-time job and internship opportunities with recruiters who are looking to hire a diverse slate of candidates.

    • The National Society of Hispanic MBAs sponsors this job fair and interview event during their annual conference in late September or early October. While the event targets Hispanic MBAs, participation is open to both members and non-members of the organizations. Also open to undergraduates 
    • The Annual Conference & Career Exposition will feature: professional development sessions, Career Expo, certification training, interactive plenary, case competitions, award ceremonies, networking, and more.
