The Career Resource Center (CRC) organizes various types of career events throughout the year including workshops, national speakers, employer information sessions, alumni sessions and career fairs. Look for specific dates and times, and register through BizLink - Events.

Following are descriptions of some of the most prominent recruiting events that UB students are eligible to attend. Read the descriptions carefully to determine your eligibility in terms of degree required, country work authorizations, etc.

You may register for most of the events free on the Web; however, you will be responsible for any necessary travel arrangements. Many events require you to register up to six months or more ahead of time, so observe the deadlines and register early.

  • Consulate General of Canada- Visas, Employment, and More

    • Join the presentation to discuss the process of becoming a Canadian via the Express Entry program as well as opportunities to work in Canada.
    • International and U.S. American citizen students in any discipline are welcome. Representatives from the Immigration section of the Consulate General of Canada will be presenting on a wide range of topics.

    • Our Coffee Cup Conversation series is an interactive program that features guest speakers from a variety of professional backgrounds who will share their expertise on a range of topics, including exploring management career paths, tips and strategies for success in the workplace, and how to find the right fit and land the ideal internship or job.   • Your Passport to Employment - Tips and Strategies from International UB Management Alumni

    • Navigating the job search and office culture is challenging for all students especially international students new to the American system. But your School of Management alumni are here to help! They will discuss how to conduct a successful job search, how to adapt to an American workplace, what surprised them about their current work environment, and more. The panel will host alumni from MBA, MS and undergraduate School of Management programs.

  • Career Passport Conference

    • Join us for this special event and learn about ways to engage with the School of Management. The conference will commence with an engaging keynote speaker. Afterward, you can make your way to a networking session with alumni and student leaders.

  • How to Rock the New FT Job or Internship Recommended

Our interactive session on Feb. 25 will share how to be a Rockstar at work so you can convert the internship to a full-time role or get promoted to the next level sooner!  How do you focus on finding the right contacts to network with at work?  What can you say to them to build a relationship when they have such a busy schedule?  What will get you on the fast-track at work?  Come join Jaymin J Patel, international speaker & author of 8 books, including the #1 Networking book "How to Get Promoted by Networking Like A Rockstar" in this lively workshop built for interns & FT employees to get the answers to all the questions you have, and didn't even know you had!  You will leave this session with a game plan that has you feeling empowered to Network Like a Rockstar at work!
