Central and South America

MGG 302/606 Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Latin America

Experience the history, culture and business of Puerto Rico through the lens of social innovation and entrepreneurial leadership. Visit a variety of companies to learn about entrepreneurial initiatives, microfinance and sustainable business practices.

Past trips have included stops at major corporations, startups and coffee cooperatives, as well as a walking tour of historic areas.

Next Program: Spring 2027

The Central and South America program includes a credit-bearing, virtual learning experience focused on Jamaica, as well as an optional in-person trip to Jamaica.

The required virtual component features visits to socially minded organizations, cultural activities, networking with alumni and local leaders, and a team project.

  • Optional Travel Dates: Spring break 2027

“It was incredible having the opportunity to work with businesses in Costa Rica during the semester course, but when we were able to work with a nongovernmental organization in person, the impact was visible.” — Grace Murphy, BS ’24
