BUFFALO, N.Y. — Financial Times has ranked the University at Buffalo School of Management’s Master of Science in Finance program as one of the best worldwide.

The school debuted in the 2025 Masters in Finance ranking at No. 60, and was one of only six programs in the U.S. to be ranked.

Among more than 19 components in the ranking, the school fared exceptionally well in “value for the money,” alumni network and career services.

Eight of the components, ranging from salary to ESG, are based on alumni responses that together constitute 56% of the total weight. The other 44% is calculated from school data.

“This ranking is a compelling indicator of the quality and relevance of our MS in Finance program,” said Michael Brace, the program’s faculty director. “It reflects the strength of our curriculum and faculty, as well as the real-world success of our alumni and the value our graduates deliver in the global finance industry.”

Schools must meet strict criteria to be eligible for the ranking. Programs must be full-time, cohort-based and have a minimum of 30 graduates. In addition, they must be accredited by AACSB or Equis.

The UB School of Management is recognized for its emphasis on real-world learning, community and impact, and the global perspective of its faculty, students and alumni. The school also has been ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek, Forbes and U.S. News & World Report for the quality of its programs and the return on investment it provides its graduates.
