Employers tell us that UB School of Management students are better prepared and have far superior interviewing skills than students from other schools. This is in large part because of our required career coursework. Our series of two undergraduate career courses (Career Connections I and II) and our required MBA career course provide students with the necessary foundation for their career development process. Self-assessment, résumé writing, interviewing skills and job-search techniques are just a few of the topics covered. CRC staff, faculty, area professionals and alumni help students develop a personal marketing strategy and Career Action Plan that serves our students throughout their entire career.
As of the 2025-26 academic year, 100% of students at the junior level in the Career Connections II course had their practice interview and critique in-person. Though it is far easier (since COVID) to manage the feat of more than 800 practice interviews virtually, we strongly believe that the in-person engagement and practice is a requirement for success.
