The University at Buffalo School of Management’s Center for Supply Chain Analytics is a multidisciplinary research hub applying best practices in cutting-edge supply chain analytics across industries, government and society. Our focus is on advancing the state of practice in supply chain analytics and operations by:

  • Collaborating with industry leaders and academic scholars to research, identify and disseminate best practices
  • Providing transformative education to students through project-based experiential learning opportunities
  • Generating economic and social impacts that improve quality of life by contributing to improved supply chain execution policy and practice

Collaboration and Opportunities

  • Industry professionals can collaborate with faculty to investigate pressing supply chain analytics questions
  • Undergraduate and graduate students from any School of Management major who are interested in supply chain may apply to one of 10 positions available annually
    • Develop business cases for new market entry and expansion
    • Identify candidate supply chain companies
    • Publish case studies documenting results from supply chain research projects

The School of Management’s Center for Supply Chain Analytics is leading UB’s involvement in this $40 million initiative to grow semiconductor manufacturing, research, and education in New York State.

The NY Smart I-Corridor Tech Hub: Supply Chain Activation Network project is supported by a grant from the Economic Development Administration and matching funds from the University at Buffalo’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Economic Development.

Center for Supply Chain Analytics teams are investigating diversification opportunities for manufacturers of internal combustion engine parts and components, to reduce the risk of future obsolescence and capitalize on growth of electric vehicle markets.

The Center for Supply Chain Analytics is incorporating information from multiple data sets to consider the impact of external factors on container shipping prices and port utilization.

    Jennifer Flagg, director of the Center for Supply Chain Analytics, spoke at the April 3 Buffalo Niagara Partnership meeting about opportunities in the semiconductor industry. She also announced a conference on July 15-16 to help local companies connect with buyers and become suppliers for major firms like Micron Technology.
