Central and South America

South and Latin America: Costa Rica and Brazil

Experience the history, culture and business of Costa Rica and Brazil through the lens of social innovation and entrepreneurial leadership. Visit a variety of companies to learn about entrepreneurial initiatives, microfinance and sustainable business practices.

Past trips have included stops at major corporations, startups and coffee cooperatives, as well as a walking tour of historic San Jose and free time on the coast to see a famous Costa Rican sunset.

Next Program: Spring 2022

Like all global programs, the Costa Rica and Brazil program is a credit-bearing, hybrid experience. During the virtual learning component, you will meet local leaders, participate in cultural experiences and complete a social impact and entrepreneurship-themed project. Finally, you can cap off the experience with an optional trip to Costa Rica, pending university health/safety policies.

  • Optional Travel Dates: Spring break, March 21-26, 2022

“Completing a practicum project in Costa Rica has been life-changing. It was amazing to be immersed in a different culture. I was there to create a fundraising strategy for a nongovernmental organization and was able to help this organization provide aid while personally learning and growing.” — Jake Kinley, MBA ’19
