Project-Based Experiences

Short-term, project-based experiences build professional skills in a concentrated time frame. These types of opportunities may align better with students who are seeking focused opportunities. Please note: international students should be careful to review their eligibility for these types of experiences.

  • Parker-Dewey - Mission-oriented organization that helps connect student talent with companies through Micro-Internships.

Socially Conscious Resources

  • Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper: Protects and restores Western New York water and surrounding ecosystems for the benefit of current and future generations - offers internship experiences in the spring, summer and fall
  • Ceres: Interns work on projects related to building business cases for a sustainable future by engaging with investors, companies, policymakers and partner organizations
  • Climate Institute: Interns are given the opportunity to make hands-on contributions to exciting new initiatives that have the potential to substantially help mitigate climate change
  • Clean Air Coalition: Grassroots organization that focuses on environmental justice and public health initiatives in Western New York
  • Clean Water Action: Interns support initiatives related to protecting the environment and safeguarding public health
  • D.C Hunger Solutions: An initiative of the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) working to create a hunger-free community and improve the nutrition, health, economic security, and well-being of low-income District residents
  • Idealist.org: Nonprofit based in New York which connects people to job, internship and volunteer opportunities at socially and environmentally conscious organizations

Diversity and Inclusion Resources

  • Greenwood Project: Focused on Black and Latinx students, Greenwood Project envisions a finance industry without barriers to entry and advancement, and offers a college program for students to engage in career exploration activities, including internships. 
  • SEO Career: Focused on Black, Latinx and Native American students, SEO Career is a premier program for recruiting and training high achieving undergraduates for summer internships that can lead to full-time jobs. They partner with organizations across the country for roles in Financial Services, Technology, Real Estate and Corporate.
