The school’s Events Office can provide you with resources for planning and implementing a variety of events, including speakers, conferences, commencement and more.
School of Management Events Calendars
Two calendars serve different purposes within the school. The published events calendar is a public calendar for event promotion and registration. The internal calendar is a master document to facilitate event planning.
Published Events Calendar
The main events calendar is public and published on the landing page of the School of Management’s website. Any events that are open to School of Management audiences or the public and hosted by any department within the School of Management should be posted to the public events calendar.
Authorized users should enter events directly to the public calendar. Those who are not authorized calendar users should submit a service request.
Internal Calendar (for event planning and reference)
This is a calendar for internal reference and planning. Any events within the School of Management open to select audiences and/or certain members of the School of Management can be posted on the Internal Events Calendar. This calendar is used primarily for scheduling purposes, general knowledge of event happenings for faculty and staff, and for potential collaboration between departments.
- Open your Outlook Calendar.
- Click on Open Calendar and toggle down to “from Address Book”.
- In the search bar, type in “Mgmt Events Calendar”.
- Click OK, you should now see the Events Calendar appear in your calendar view.
- Open your Outlook Calendar.
- Click on “Add Calendar” and then click on “Add from Directory”.
- Under select an account to choose from, choose your UB email address.
- Enter the email mgt-events@buffalo.edu and click on it when it appears
- Under the Add To drop down, choose “My calendars”.
- Click “Add”. You should now see the Events Calendar appear in your calendar view.
Event Planning and Brainstorming
Whether your event is a large-scale conference or a short reception, the Events Manager can help you plan and coordinate activities from start to finish.
Contact the School of Management’s events manager to discuss the details and needs for your event. Send an email to mgt-events@buffalo.edu to schedule a meeting and include potential dates and times.
Event Venues and Vendors

- On-campus event venue guide
- Tables, chairs, trash bins
The School of Management has a small supply of tables. To reserve them for your event, contact mgt-events@buffalo.edu- To order trash bins, chairs and additional tables, visit UB’s Request a Service website and choose “Submit a Work Order” under Campus Requests. Note: The beginning and end of each semester is a busy season for rentals, so items in your request may not be available.
- To rent tables and chairs from external vendors, submit a service request.
- Catering
3 Pillars Catering is the preferred onsite catering service for campus events. To place an order or view their menu, visit 3 Pillars Catering. To discuss other catering or food drop-off options with the school’s events manager, submit a service request.
- Hotels, transportation and parking
- Photographers, DJs and rental supply companies. Submit a service request to discuss options with the events manager.

- Registration Forms
Several different types of registration sites can be used when planning an event. If your event requires a fee, a registration form must be set up within the UB Marketplace platform. If there is no fee for the event, registration can be set up directly on the School of Management website or on such external sites such as Slate or Google Forms. - Web page set up
To request a web page for your event on the School of Management website, submit a service request.
- Post-event survey
Choose from a list of survey questions to create a post-event survey that can be sent via email to attendees after your event.
- Event equipment rental
The school offers a has a number of promotional supplies and equipment to use for your event. They are available for loan on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve equipment, submit a service request.
Event Day Support, Setup and Breakdown
If you need event day setup, clean up or support during your event, submit a service request. Requests must be submitted as soon as possible, but no less than one week prior to your event.
Event Signage and Email Templates
A variety of templates are available for event invitations, signage, agendas and programs to help you plan and promote your event.
Alfiero/Jacobs TV Screens
If you would like to post an event, announcement, welcome or slide on the television screens in Jacobs Management Center and Alfiero Center, visit the TV Screen Posting Request form, select the appropriate category from the dropdown menu and complete the brief form below it. Postings must be submitted at least two business days prior to the morning of the visit.
